Anti Tangle Rigs

Most anti tangle rigs are made up of rig tubing, the weighted tubing is the best as it pins the tubing to the lake bed. I used to use lead putty up the tubing and if I was using soft Dacron or braid hook links they would hook up on the lead putty; a good way I found round this was to use a PVA stick of the hook bait boilie I was using and thread the chosen braided hook link through it eliminating tangles plus, camouflaging your hook link plus, adding more attractant around your hook bait when the Carp get wary of this. Simply use sharp sand, especially if your fishing on gravel Freeze it while it is taught and the hook link will not tangle; this is good for supple braids which can tangle easily, as the hook link defrosts, untangled it and will leave attractant around your hook.

A good easy way of eliminating tangles is to over cast and just before your end tackle hits the water say 5ft or so put your finger on the spool and follow your end tackle down with your rod tip till it hits bottom. This helps your end tackle landing tidily and keeps your rig straight.

In colder months I will use freezer spray to stiffen my hook links. I can also add attractors to my hook link by soaking the link in attractor and freeze it so it doesn’t tangle, and when the link melts it leaves a line of attractant before the boilies. This Spray can be purchased from any electronics branch, the brand I use is called Servisol Freezeit 20 around £5 and is neutral; non-toxic I have used it on bread to get more distance on my cost without it coming off.
