Surface Fishing

Hi, I’m Anthony Bahnik aka The Burping Angler. Surface fishing to me is the most exciting way of catching carp. This style of fishing is where it all started for me in 1995. Over the years I have learned a fair few approaches to this style of angling, and used enough dog biscuits to feed every dog in the country for a year.

In this short piece I will cover the 3 main techniques that have given me some of my most memorable captures, and largest carp. The methods I am talking about are, free lining soaked chum mixers, controller fishing and long link zig fishing. The key to all these styles of surface fishing is presentation and feeding. I will give a brief intro to each style and tell you a bit about bait prep, feeding, rigs and tackle I use. Click on the links below for more information.
Safe and Peace. The Burping angler.
