Carp Fishing History
While I’ve been back at work my mate John Marshall has been fishing the secret pool that I’ve mentioned before.
He has been bagging big Carp on the pole catching up to 26lb on floating crust on the pole yes on the pole plus he has hooked one of the illusive 30lb plus Common Carp had it in the net and broke his landing net.
Resulting in a 30lb getting away we don’t even know what is in this pool which is an awesome feeling when you are fishing there.
I fished three hour sessions and bagged a 20lb 8oz a 19lb 4oz an 18lb 6oz and a 14lb Common Carp and spotted a large grass and Common Carp both over 30lb and in one acre of water we will eventually catch these fish I cant wait.
These carp have been very hard to catch on the bottom baits. So we have been stalking opportunist fish I reckon when all the natural food dies off it will be time to put the bait in to keep these Carp moving in the colder months as there is loads of a natural for them to feed on at the moment.
When the naturals die off it will be time to give these fish a right pasting, the bait that will is Hemp and Tigers which I have already caught on previously this year from the same venue.
Carp tip: I have been mixing Hemp, Chillies Tiger Nut Milk and Tigers in Slime that I’ve prepared myself so when the mix goes in the spod the slime holds the slop in the spod the spod is slam casted to the island 14 meters out and when the spod hits the water the spod moves a few feet forward and drops your slop under the over hangs of the shrubs and then I take a 14metre pole with large cup to drop my hook bait right on top of the slop.
Good eh? So poles are good for something ha ha! The pole is the proper angle to catch Carp if you can cope with it I can’t but John Marshal can with a number 20 elastic and a zoo creature pole with 10lb double strength fly leader John is in a world of his own that’s angling at its best. I will stick to bolt rigs buzzers & bobbins with the odd bit of stalking as I am and proud to be a Carp angler.
