Carp Fishing Lake

My ideal Carp Lake is like the one I fished now, I used to Fly Fish this water when I was around 13 yrs of age, it is the perfect home for big carp it has got spits & bars snaggy bays, reedy bays, islands, canal sections and plenty of ground cover i.e. trees and shrubs, it is about 8 acres in the size with around 80 carp with an average size of 27lb we reckon there is over 20 thirties with the rest of them are mostly twenties the lake record stands at around 38lb which aint bad.

With not many fish in the lake the water is relatively clear so any groups of fish feeding heavily will quickly cloud up the clear water especially in the shallower water, most of the gravel bars can be seen with polarised lenses.
The lake is called Broadwater; a syndicate of about 40 members so it doesn’t get rammed like commercial carp waters, you always get a good choice of good swims every swim has features to fish to, The members are a good bunch of geezers and that is all you need from a carp fishing lake.

I will be adding some photos of the Carp Fishing Lake and some of its inhabitation to my website so keep on catching all the best.
