The CARP FISHING GUIDE Saves you Time and Money.

The most important carp fishing tackle is your end tackle meaning hook, line & sinker.

There are all types of hooks for carp fishing, most hooks in my carp fishing tackle box are Gardner mugga and Longshank nailer hooks, these are good for carp that pick up your bait and just sit there trying to gob the bait out when the shank is longer it makes it harder to spit out, the hook & the bait and the fish then panics and bolts.

The mugga has a longer shank than normal hooks e.g. the esp. raptor it also has a
slight curve to aid hooking on bait ejection, I use this one for most of my fishing and the esp. raptor hook I will use for floater and float fishing.

I will now mention the line, the line I use and recommend is krystons krystonite it is very supple so it follows the contours of the lake bed it is a fluoro carbon this type of mono is almost invisible to the fish, that is why I fish fluoro carbon, hook links especially in the day time it doesn’t matter what you use at night the fish cant see in the dark, the one I use is the Gardner subterfuge super soft fluoro carbon, there are quite a few on the market but why change if this one works.

If you want extra sensitivity braid its always a good bet because there is no stretch in the braid so any movement on the bait and rig it will be detected easier, I don’t like playing fish on braid because it has no elasticity so marginal scraps can end up in hook pulls.

Last we will mention the sinker these come in flat, inline, pear, zipp watch, gripper, trilobe, flatinline etc which I will mention in my carp fishing rig section with photos.

Carp Tackle

Solar World wide Rod Pod by Lee Williams. When I saw the Looks and precise engineering of this wonderful piece of kit I just had to go out and buy one.
The world wide pod is a very versatile tool for fishing I have used it for locked up snag fishing as there are two goal post supports at each end of the pod, if I am fishing locked up I will add the support of a bungee from ground to rear cross bar just for extra security.

This pod is not just for tackle tarts as a posing piece it’s the tool for the job and described by Critics as the finest rod pod in the world, It also comes in a neat padded holdall which accommodates not just your pod but your buzzers receiver and indicators too so you can keep everything protected together.

I have also had to invest in the most good looking versatile rear lock rod rest heads which are fully adjustable through the use of stainless spacers they have even saved my rods being pulled in when barbell fishing expensive kit but worth the weight in gold at the end of they day no one will ever beat solar on stainless pods rests and indicators.
