WOMEN CARP FISHING

I do not know many women who are enthusiastic about fishing.
The only Girl I know personally that fishes for Carp is my daughter, Amy who is 14 years old.
I first took Amy fishing down to my local syndicate in Fillongley Warwickshire when she was 8 years old; it is beautiful looking lake of around 4 acres, with marginal reeds & shrubs and plenty of cover from large trees and there is also a large island in the middle of the lake with plenty of features like over hanging bushes to fish to, I hope you can get the picture.

Amy first started off doing a bit of pole fishing, so she could get the feel of the fish on the end without worrying about using a reel and then went to a rod and reel, Amy did really well with both catching Roach, Rudd, Crucian Carp plus Small Common & Mirror Carp.
While I was watching and helping Amy, I had put out three carp rods in the next swim all positioned and baited, Amy had always wanted to catch a big carp but told her I would let her when she proved that she could catch smaller fish on lighter tackle effectively, meaning baiting the hook casting out hitting the bite and landing the fish and after a while she did just that.
We arrived at the lake it was an overcast day low pressure around early September time, we set up in our usual way with me carping and Amy catching smaller fish.
I was sat next to Amy, watching and helping her fish, I heard my bite alarm going and Amy screamed go on dad and I said no you go and without any encouragement she was there fighting with her dream fish, it was a real good scrap, I was so proud of her all I had to do was net it for her, it weighted in at 10lb 4oz, Amy was over the moon.
I have a video of this remarkable catch of Amy’s, also some other Carp Amy has caught, soon to be released on website, I will also try and find out about more women carp fishing, don’t tell the Mrs.
I would love to hear from any Ladies Carp Fishing.
